The Faces Of Victim:The originator of the Drama Triangle said this about Lynne's writing:
"A woman in couples counseling brought in a copy of your writing and said "Why couldn't you have told me about this. This is very helpful."

Stephen Karpman, M.D. www.karpmanDramaTriangle.com

“Every dysfunctional interaction takes place on the Drama Triangle”, says Lynne. The drama triangle is a tool for understanding the faces of victim-hood. It was conceived by Stephen Karpman, a psychiatrist and teacher of Transactional Analysis. This article is as clearly written and concise a description on the Drama Triangle as you will find anywhere, accurately describing the roles of dysfunction and the games we play in relationship. Lynne shares relational dynamics that make getting off the triangle possible. This article is a must-read whether you think you're living in victimhood or not!

Consciousness At Work: "Consciousness requires a shift in perception that starts with the first Hermetic principle - the Law of Mentalism. Remember this law states that everything is made of mental substance. There are no exceptions. Among other things, this means that the quality of your thoughts determines what your life experience will be. It means that you are surrounded by the physical manifestation of your thoughts. It’s important to pay attention to what happens in your life because what you have in your life; the people, the circumstances, even your very lifestyle – all of it - is the harvest of your own mental state. This is why we say the world is a mirror… because it literally is!"

Lessons From The Labyrinth: "New insights arise every time I walk the labyrinth.  Among this morning’s realizations came this one: “Understanding the physical laws of manifestation may bring me close to Source, but will not get me there.”  No matter how much I practice the Hermetic principles… no matter how successful I am at manifesting the form of life I desire… no matter what miracles of health or material success are performed - these things will not bring me enlightenment.”"

The Guilt Bind: “There seems to be a widespread notion among humans that somehow by shaming, demanding or guilting ourselves (and others) we can effect change.  In fact the opposite is true. The real truth is that guilt is the glue that holds our painful habits and active addictions in place.”

On Being An Authentic Teacher: "When we commit to the work of personal transformation (which means clearing and aligning our emotional, mental and physical bodies) and begin to learn the Universal Principles that apply to that process, we automatically initiate a path of modeling “the Way” for others. Those who know us, our coworkers, friends and family, begin to see positive changes in us and often start asking questions, wanting to understand what is responsible for the increasing confidence and calm that they see. As our transformation becomes more visible they, in turn, start to turn to us for counsel. In this way, whether we plan to or not, we become teachers who demonstrate through our own life example what it means to live a conscious life. In other words, we inadvertently become teachers of consciousness for everyone we encounter!"

Ruled By Fear
“Fear is the emotion that accompanies a state of separateness and alienation. It is the polar opposite of unity consciousness. Fear is the automatic state of being which accompanies the emergence of the ego-self and therefore the primary human condition that visits itself upon us with the advent of self-consciousness.  In other words as soon as we conceive of ourselves as “lone selves” in a world full of other lone selves, fear sets in and takes up residence in our hearts and minds.  This is the plight of every human being.”

The Three Faces of Divine Self:In Christianity we learn that we are all made in God's image. Modern-day Christianity, as well as the ancient mystical teachings, describes God as being three-fold.  This three-fold nature of God is called the Holy Trinity. If indeed we are all made in His image, then perhaps we, too consist of this same three-fold nature.  Perhaps every human being contains a trinity...”

Daily Practicing The Now: “I often speak of the importance of developing some sort of daily practice.  The daily practice is defined as a regular time set aside every day within which to consciously ground and connect with Source.  It is different for each person. There is not a right or wrong way to do it. We simply go about finding a medium of connection that works well for us and then commit to it. It is not unusual to go through many and various “techniques” as our interests change and evolve over time.”

Birth Order Assigned Roles:  Which Child Were You? Did you know that the way you were treated in your family of origin may have had more to do with the order of your birth than with any other single factor? First born children receive very different messages about who they are than a second or third born child.  Read more in Lynne’s article about how the order of our birth affects both the way we see ourselves and how we are received in the world.

Core Beliefs; Our Personal Fiction: Core beliefs are old, unconscious negative ideas we carry about ourselves that “originate in childhood and become the lens through which we view the world. We live out these core beliefs ... this fictionalized version or story of who we are”. Our challenge is to make them conscious and learn how they work. “In this way we can learn to discern what triggers them and then make different choices about how to respond, so that rather than reacting out of these beliefs we can choose healthier alternatives”.

The Watchful Eye: Our Observer Self: “The Observer (Self) is a necessary part of our internal personal growth and support team .... Developing our inner eye is critical because consciousness is the healing solvent for all of life’s painful dilemmas.”  Learn more about developing the witness aspect that lives within you. Symptom to Symbol: "One way our Higher Self works to communicate with us . . . (is) by helping us to develop a symbolic life....  Rarely does it occur to the average human being that the symptom they are trying to eliminate might actually serve as a doorway into a bigger life story!"  How do we expand our ordinary lives full of pain and symptom into a life full of rich and meaningful symbol? Seeing is Believing: "Healing is not something one gets done to oneself . . . it is a proactive process . . . . first and foremost, it (involves a). . . personal decision.... Our imagination is a specially designed tool which provides us with the ability to actualize out goals."  For learning more about using the powers of the mind to manifest the realities we want, read “Believing is Seeing”.

Cultivating Miracles: "Miracles are everyday occurrences waiting only for my acknowledgement....  Surrender, the active process of letting-go, clears the way for acts of divinity.  Relinquishmen is necessary before something wondrous can happen." The Dark Twin Within ". . . we all own a . . . sub-personality which could be called our dark twin .  This shadowy part of us is very invested in revealing our discrepancies, denials and cover-ups....  And yet it is also often that orphaned part of us that holds the key to wholeness."  Learn more about your own shadow aspect and how it affects your life by reading “The Dark Twin ....”

An In-Body Experience:“...My body became an uncomfortable place, full of human frailties... reminders that I was far from the spiritual "nirvana" I so desired. . . . Physicists have now established that the mind does not reside there, (in the brain) but throughout the body, in its organs and cellular tissue. So when we say we are having a gut reaction to something, its literally true!" Read about the all important mind-body connection and why it is critical to be in our body for healing to happen.

Parenting: ". . . it's important that we as parents understand that our job is not about preventing our children's pain because we can't! ...Could it be that the wounds of childhood are part of the necessary  journey towards becoming mature and capable adults?"  For a unique perspective on the role of parents as initiators, read this article on parenting.

Dying to Live:"We have been taught to see death as the enemy” .... But there are some who understand ... "death as being a natural part of the life cycle, as is birth.  They understand that something always has to die before there can be a birth of any kind.... Rather than overcome death, our challenge becomes to learn how to surrender with grace."  Read Lynne's article about the importance of learning closure and about how dying, i.e. letting go, is an essential part of the healing process.
