Own your blunders & forgive …..

Recently my daughter observed the following interaction between her children, my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, Isa and her big brother, Nicolas (age 6)….

Isa stormed into the house from outside where they had been playing together and said to him; “Nicwas, you owe me ah apowolgee (her own version of apology)!”

Immediately Nicolas replied in a subdued voice, “I am sorry, Isa.”

There was the briefest of pauses and then we heard Isa say … “Well, that's okay … I forgive you. And  I still luv you.”

What wonderful lessons our children teach us!

When we are able to own our blunders it paves the way for forgiveness which, in turn opens the heart. Balance and harmony are restored.

Is there someone you need to apologize to?

Is there someone who needs your forgiveness?

Might it even be yourself that is in need of your acceptance?

Try it. You may find as I have that self responsibility and forgiveness are the best medicines in the world.
